“Why Yardbird Southern Table & Bar Is One Of The Best Resturants In South Florida!”

Living in Miami I’ve never really been too fond of Miami Beach. But since I have discovered Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, now I am in the area frequently. During my first experience, I decided why not check it out for myself. I arranged a reservation for Saturday at 5pm for two, when I arrived I was greeted by two female hostess. I gave them my name and I was immediately seated.

I sat by these huge glass windows and outside was the perfect view of vintage cars that were parked out front as well as Miami Beach patrons that were strolling or driving by. As we sat there looking over the menu and waiting on the waiter, soothing Ray Charles classics played in the background. When the waiter arrived he asked was this me and my friends first time visiting. We both said yes and he mentioned a few of their popular items that were on the menu. I ordered what the restaurant was known for, which is their chicken and waffles, with a side of Mac and cheese. My guest ordered the shrimp and grits.

After our order was placed the restaurant manager, Hobert, came over to introduce himself and let us know that if their was anything we needed let him know. Our food arrived within 10 or 15 minutes and when I took the first bite of my Macaroni and cheese I was immediately hooked. The mac and cheesed was made with torchio pasta, five artisanal cheeses and topped with crispy herb crust. The chicken ‘n’ watermelon ‘n’ waffles comes sided with honey hot sauce that tingles in your mouth, chilled spiced but yet sweet watermelon, vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffles and bourbon maple syrup.

My guests dish was seared shrimp, roasted tomatoes, Virginia ham, nora mill grits and pbr chicken jus. When we finished our meals the restaurants manager came back to check in and ask if we enjoyed the food.

To end our visit the restaurants manger sent over a Bacon Butterscotch Cake after hearing it was my birthday. The cake was covered with bacon frosting, butterscotch sauce, toasted pecans, bourbon ice cream and candied bacon. I must say every single dish that was presented to me and my guest was phenomenal. I can honestly say I enjoyed myself, from the atmosphere to the customer service to the food everything was sensational. I plan on taking another visit to yardbird within the next week to try some more items on their menu.

If you’re visiting Miami and you’re looking for some good southern cooking , yardbird is definitely a place on our list where you should stop by.
